Day 1 Copenhagen
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred with English-speaking assistance to your hotel. Evening is at leisure.
Day 2 Copenhagen
Your guided walking tour through Copenhagen will unveil the authentic narrative of the city, expertly weaving together Danish history with contemporary tales of everyday life among today's Danes. Along the way journey past the Cathedral, traverse the renowned pedestrian street Strøget, catch a glimpse of Christiansborg Palace, and behold the present-day royal residence at Amalienborg, complete with a view of the Opera House, concluding our excursion at Ofelia Plads. Day 3 Copenhagen
Enjoy a Culinary experience walking tour of Copenhagen, starting at Torvehallerne, the fully covered market halls. Wander through Copenhagen Botanical Gardens, relaxing in the beautiful green surroundings. All that while talking about produce and local foods. During our tour we will pass several of the city’s greatest landmarks and discuss its history, food being always the focus. Exclusive to this tour we will try the open sandwiches called smørrebrød as well as a microbrewery where we sample three different types of home-brewed beer. The most classic and unmissable street food in Copenhagen is a hotdog, which we serve in a gourmet version. (B)(L)
Day 4 Copenhagen - Odense
Catch the train to Odense, the main city on the island of Fynen, and Denmark’s 3rd largest city.Experience the transformation that’s turning Odense into a modern city. Learn about its centuries of history, populated by merchants, clergy, kings, nobility, and regular folk. Along the way you will see the latest pride of Odense, the new Hans Christian Andersen Museum, and hear the story of how it came to be. Walk along the river while we share the stories of the city’s industrial giants and the latest ventures in robots and drones. This tour features much of what Odense is famous for. (B)
Day 5 Odense - Bramming - Ribe
Enjoy your train journey across the mainland province of Jutland and to Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark. The cobbled narrow streets, the well-preserved houses, and plaques each tell their part of the proud history that stretches back to around 710 AD. Overnight in the Hotel Dagmar, housed in a beautifully restored 16th century building.
Day 6 Ribe - Aarhus
Hop on the direct train to Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city. Upon arrival, make your own way to the hotel. Aarhus is a small town with big city atmosphere. Head to the riverfront, where an array of cafes and restaurants await, providing a perfect setting to unwind and savour the city's atmosphere. (B)
Day 7 Aarhus
Enjoy a private walking tour with an English-speaking guide. Explore Aarhus’ highlights, including the iconic City Hall, cultural flagships such as the Concert Hall, the ARoS Art Museum and the Dokk1 library, the Aarhus River, the Latin Quarter in the old city centre, many beautiful buildings from a bygone era and the newest urban development along the waterfront.The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure and we recommend a visit to the open-air museum ‘Den Gamle By’ – the Old Town Museum, or the award winning Moesgaard Museum, located outside of the city. Day 8 Aarhus
The tour concludes after breakfast. Make your own way to the airport for your departing flight, or perhaps take the train to Copenhagen. The journey takes approx. 3 hours. (B)
